**1:1 Teaching Assistant**

We work with a Primary School in central Gloucester (around the Quedgeley area) who need a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible. This is a full time opportunity, with the hours being 8:30-3:30 from Monday-Friday, and this role would then run until the end of the academic year. The school needs someone to support a child in KS2 who has Special Educational Needs and needs some support with their communication and learning. The child also has a tendency to run away and so ensuring the child is safe is a key part of this role.

The school is a small school with limited classes, but has a very close-knit staff base here who all support one another with their professional development and everyday tasks. They do need someone who is willing to put in the effort and motivation to become part of the team and ensure they are providing the best level of education for students. Previous experience of working with SEN is really crucial as the child has quite high needs and so the right person for the role will be able to adapt quickly as necessary.

**What will you do on a daily basis?**
- Enthuse and motivate children using a variety of ways so that all children can access their learning and become independent learners
- Support the child both educationally and mentally
- Be a reflective practitioner who is able to adapt and improve their own practice
- Be a team player who has strong interpersonal skills
- Show a good understanding and awareness of SEND and is able to use a range of strategies to support all children’s needs
