A Primary School in Hersham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and support teachers in the education and development of our pupils. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers to ensure all students have access to the National Curriculum, Pathway Plans, and Education Health and Care Plans. You will also provide support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) during all learning activities and lessons.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support teachers in delivering 1-1 and/or group support/intervention and monitor pupil performance.
- Use routine supervision and care skills to support all students, including those with SEND, in learning activities and lessons.
- Encourage student independence and provide support with any behavioural issues.
- Participate in self-development activities and in-service education and training (INSET) days to keep skills up to date.
- Understand and implement school policies, with particular attention to Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behavior, Teaching and Learning, and Equal Opportunities.
- Supervise children during breaks in the dining and play areas to ensure orderly conduct and promote positive experiences.

**Requirements**:

- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, preferably through a GCSE qualification in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Ability to work towards Vocational Qualifications Level 1 or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures, and principles of equality and diversity.
- Basic IT skills and ability to operate basic equipment.
- Good listening skills, enthusiasm to learn, and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent command of the English language to fulfill all spoken, written, and comprehension aspects of the role.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, support colleagues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks, communicate effectively, and be adaptable.

**Additional Information**:

- The role may require manual handling and physically demanding work.
- First aid qualifications are desirable.
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) with Children's Barred List check is required..
