**The department and team**

**This position is 40 hours per week working Monday to Thursday between the hours of 05.00 - 18.00.**

**Main purpose of the job**

To be able to complete several different tasks within Pie to enable us to have flexibility with our schedule allowing us to use a multi skilled operator in several areas depending on the demand. To be able to adapt the schedule and provide operational cover in different roles/areas and shift patterns across Pie.

**Responsibilities**:
To be able to cover 5 or more of below the key roles listed below:

- Calibrating across all lines - placing pinned pastry from a rack onto the calibrator, overlapping the pastry by 20-50 mm and adjusting rollers using an adjusting arm to ensure a consistent thickness. Feeding centrally and adapting feed to account for range of products. Fill flour shakers to ensure continuous dusting and monitor trim pastry to eliminate snagging/trapping.
- Hand line -Placing a rasher of Bacon onto a pastry square at 30 units per minute, place grated cheese on a square of pastry (12-15g) at 84 units per minute and folding the pastry at 42 units per minute.
- Mixing dough on the Dexmore - using recipe card, add/weight ingredients to mixing bowl, place bowl on high speed mixer and mix for specified time. Place bowl onto line ready for use.
- Kitchen - mixing - To have clear understanding of materials within the kitchen area and through using a fill card be able to prepare and mix ingredients ready to supply manufacture. To complete tractability documentation.
- Pastry line processing (not running line) (see pastry operative job description)
- Servicing - Tromp, Trad & Dexmore - supply all raw materials to the line (in the correct rotation) place materials into pumps and using the pump, fill the depositors to the required level and maintain that level. Remove all trim/waste trim from the line and take to the waste area.

As the role is in-place to allow cover for holidays and other absence there may be times when there is no requirement for cover on one of the key roles shown above, therefore there may be times when it is necessary to place the multi-skilled operator on one of the assembly lines.

The more roles that the multi-skilled operator can cover the less frequently the default role will be necessary.

- Ability and willingness to learn a variety of different roles/tasks
- Able to work on own initiative
- A good team player
- Flexibility - where possible you will work on the same shift covering the holidays and absence for that shift, however there may be occasions when a change of shift is necessary. We would strive to give as much notice for changes of shift as possible but there might be some unavoidable short notice changes.
