**The department and team**

To be able to cover holidays and other absence for a number of the roles within the Sweets department ensuring the efficiency of the department and quality of products can be maintained.

The Sweets department are keen to promote excellent team work by employing people who have a positive (can do) attitude, who are prepared to learn a number of skills so that they are able to work in various positions within the department. By achieving this, the department is in the best position to produce quality products, in an efficient manor; we aim to not only achieve our targets but improve on them as well.

Staff are employed and trained to be multi-functional and to be capable of carrying out numerous functions should this be required when a fellow staff member is away or absent

This multi-skilled operator position is planned to work on the 06:00-14:00 shift

£12.92 per hour* + Bonus + Benefits
- includes temporary cost of living allowance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work to agreed plan and highlight any issues (for your area of responsibility), This can vary from Cooking Pots, Mixing equipment, loading and unloading Ovens, use of cutting equipment and the preparation of ingredients for the production lines.
- Accurate planning ahead to ensure that those servicing you are aware of your exact requirements; keep devaluation/wastage to a minimum in other areas and ensuring plan attainment
- Ensure a high level of efficiency through excellent communications with the production staff, stores / preparation staff, Team Leader, Supervisor as well as the engineering department as and when required.
- Flexible attitude towards covering for others and start times to suit the business
- Ensure departments productivity targets are met through accurate planning ahead to ensure that those you are servicing have the requirements to optimise line speed and throughput.
- Responsible to control the stocks in the preparation area of Sweets. Use of the scan guns to order and receive products, control the stock movements and to confirm into process orders.
- Stock Take areas and return stocks no longer required in the department.
- Identify and action continuous improvement ideas
- Minimise wastage through controlled working (as per customer requirements/fill cards)
- To actively drive improvements in customer complaints performance by focusing on achieving right first time policy.
- To ensure due diligence/traceability, CCP and all technical documentation is fully completed
- Ensure departmental hygiene standards are in-line with external audits requirements
- Reporting accurately any H&S issues.
- Actively participate in departmental risk assessments
- Actively promote continuous improvement in hygiene standards
- Adopt a ‘clean as you go policy’

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Experience of working to set standards and KPIs
- Good standards in English and Math’s
- Experience of working in a production environment
- Undertake Level 2 Food Safety training: a pass level must be obtained

Desirable:
Experience of food safety / Level 2 food safety certificate

- Have a can-do attitude; will try to learn other tasks in the department if required

- Have a desire to help the team meet the department targets
- Undertake any training made available/organised
- Lead by example
