Nursing Home Training Officer

**Contract Type**: Temporary Maternity Cover - Full Time, 40 hours per week - Contract for 3 to 6 months with the possibility for extension.
**Working Hours**: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some traveling is required between both homes. Car driver is essential.
**Location**: Grosvenor Villas Nursing Home, Lightfoot Street, Hoole, Chester, Cheshire CH2 3AD.
Eden Mansions Nursing Home, Station Road, Styal, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 4HD.
**Salary**:£12 to £14 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

- The Training Officer is primarily responsible for the planning, organising, delivering and recording of the training delivered to Home-based staff.
- Recommend to and receive direction from the Home Manager on individual staff training needs and reporting to the Training Manager.
- Contribute to the research of new developments within the Care Sector that impact on the working practices of Residential Care Homes and propose, for approval, changes to the existing training materials.
- Staff completion of the annual mandatory refresher training programme.
- All training delivered at the Home, both internally and externally sourced, is recorded and certificates received / produced for each relevant course.
- Identify areas for staff development that exists outside of the mandatory refresher training requirements.
- Maintain, on a “real-time” basis the Training Plan for each member of staff.
- Complete Induction Training for all new starters within the appropriate timescale
- 100% of existing staff receive the Mandatory Training on an annual basis
- Maintain records of training delivered (CBT, externally provided and internal classroom) on a “real time” basis for 100% of the staff at the Home.
- Active involvement in the development of training materials resulting from changes in Care Home practice requirements or from issues identified with existing materials.
