Credit Controller

Envision People are delighted to be working with a well established national law firm who are looking for a experienced credit controller to join their accounts team.
**Job Overview**
Ideally you will have familiarity with accounts receivable procedures, reconciliation of month-end accounts and be able to demonstrate a background in credit control with success recovering outstanding funds from clients - this could include aged debt mattersor tricky recoveries where payment plans are in place.
You will be able to communicate effectively and confidently on the phone but also in writing and have a adaptable and organised nature.
**Main Duties**:

- Communicating with clients to collect unpaid invoices.
- Preparing, reviewing, and distributing ageing accounts receivable reports to the Senior Partners, with emphasis on items more than 30 days old.
- Running client statements of account and providing copy invoices where required and in accordance with the firm’s policies.
- Reconciling cash and preparing monthly cash collection forecasts.
- Reconciling client ledgers, ensuring attention to detail and to a high level of accuracy.
- Processing Invoices and credit notes.
- Covering Legal Cashiers when on annual leave by processing CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments through the online banking portal, producing and issuing of cheques.
- Liaising with Head of Accounts to ensure that any potential reasons for delay in collections are anticipated and avoided.
- Suggesting ideas to improve or modify the collections process to achieve targets.
- Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time
- Liaising with Solicitors and Bailiffs
- At least 2 years’ experience of working as a credit controller within a law firm
- Patience and resilience with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
