An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Theatre Support Worker to work within our busy main operating theatre department providing care for patients who are under the care of most surgical specialities.

**Our Theatre specialities**:
Our main operating theatre department covers the following surgical areas: Breast, Renal, Urology, General, Accident and Emergency, Vascular, Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery - we are also part of the Major Trauma Centre Collaborative for Merseyside and Cheshire.

We are recruiting Health Care Assistants and trained Theatre Support Workers to work within the main operating theatres here at the Broadgreen Hospital Site.

The operating theatre is a challenging area to work with its state of the art technology, dedicated and highly skilled staff demanding the very best care for patients patterns. Theatre Support Workers play a key role in delivering this high level of patient care.

Job Summary

To assist the theatre team in the delivery of care.

To assist in the maintenance of standards.

To assist in the efficient running of theatre services.

To assist in patient care under supervision.

Internal rotation is in practice through theatres, anaesthetic, scrub and recovery to allow personal development and the smooth delivery of service. You may therefore agree on formal appraisal to move to another area for experience

Key responsibilities

Clinical/technical/clerical

Daily cleaning of the theatre area, Scrub Room and Exit Rooms including all furniture, fittings and specialised equipment.

Daily cleaning of X-ray gowns, checking gowns still adhere to health and safety standards, deal appropriately with gowns not up to standards.

Monitor and maintain stock levels of materials and equipment in each theatre area.

Prepare packs, set up trolleys, setup theatres f
