The County Hotel, Chelmsford is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and multi-skilled Maintenance Assistant to work as part of our back of house team, full time.

**The Company**

The hotel is a 4 star city centre 50 bedroom hotel, featuring the award-winning 1 AA Rosette Samphire Restaurant with busy conference and banqueting facilities in the heart of Chelmsford.

**The Role**

The role of Maintenance Assistant will involve the following below.

To work alongside our other Maintenance Assistant and under the guidance of our Maintenance Manager in completing daily maintenance jobs in the hotel.

Complete all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager and General Manager.

To assist in the redecoration of hotel bedrooms and front of house public areas.

To ensure all areas are left clean and tidy on completion of the job.

Observe high standards of health and safety around the hotel.

The ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff and management and paying close attention to detail is imperative. You will work closely with the hotel’s Head Housekeeper and Reception & Guest Relations Manager.

The shifts for the role will vary each week based on business needs, including starting as early as 08:00 and finishing as late as 20:30, although this is rare. The work will be carried out 5 days a week between Monday - Saturday on a rota basis, with very occasional Sunday work required.

**Experience**

A minimum of 1 years painting / decorating experience and ideally 1 years experience working back of house within a hotel.

Ideally, have some general knowledge / experience of plumbing, electrics, carpentry, plastering and engineering.

This would be the ideal role for an already established Maintenance Assistant, preferably in a hotel setting.
