**Department**: Vegetation Management Services

**Main Purpose of the role**: Carrying out vegetation maintenance work, rail activities on rail infrastructure. TFL / Tramlink & HS2 contracts Site operative to report to site Supervisor / Team Leader in carrying out vegetation maintenance and work activities on rail Infrastructure.

**Reporting to**: Team Leader/Supervisor

**Key Relationships**: Vegetation Team

**Hours of work**: As required by the relevant contract you have been engaged to provide services for with Cleshar Contract Services Ltd

**Role and Responsibilities**

**As a Ground Worker you will..**
- Liaise and maintain good relationship with the client’s representative, enforcement authorities and the general public.
- Wear all relevant PPE where mandated by the relevant safe system.
- Ensure all work sites and area’s used by CCS are left in a clean and tidy manor.
- Ensure that any plant and equipment is only operated by staff with a relevant certificate of competence.
- Undertake all duties in a safe manner as required by site manager / team leader - Work within sentinel scheme rules.

(The above list is not exhaustive and the post holder may be asked to undertake such additional tasks as reasonably required by line managers).

**Health and Safety Requirements You will..**
- Comply with the company’s HSQE policies and all other company policies applicable to the effective discharge of your role
- Attend client and company safety meetings/briefings as required, ensuring full attendance from your team (s) where you have responsibility to do so
- Comply with fatigue management guidelines

**Data Processing**..
- Immediately report any suspected GDPR data breach to you portfolio/department GDPR Lead or Head of Human Resources (HR)

**PERSON SPECIFICATION (Essential - E, Desirable - D)**
- Technical competency skills you will have the following (E)
- Ability to work well in a team and with all members of the Cleshar and external stakeholders (E)
- Physically fit to meet the physical demands of working on track (E)
- Willingness to work nights or days depending on projects. Some weekend work maybe required due to the nature of our 24/7-365 day operations (E)
- Good communication and presentation skills (E)
- Good people skills to work across a diverse multi-ethnic environment (E)
- To be professional and present a positive and keen image at all times (E)
- Minimum valid personal track safety and track induction competence (E)
- Sentinel sponsorship validation and understanding of relevant rule book sections and Cleshar Employee Agreements (E)
- To be aware working hours restrictions and only report for duty if asked to do so and work within Working Time Directive Rules (E)
- To look after all personal protective equipment (PPE) and other Cleshar owned property that is issued personally to you. If any equipment is defective it must be reported immediately to your Team Leader. This includes Sentinel Card, PPE, Vehicles and any other property issued by Cleshar. - To support the management of CCS in complying with Safety, Quality, environmental and Drugs and Alcohol policies. (E)

- Have good interpersonal communication (verbal, written and listening) skills, that will support the delivery of your duties and able to clearly explain tasks and inspire others with varying backgrounds
- Have high standards of attention to detail in all aspects of your work
- Show initiative and know when to escalate issues for Supervisor/ Management support.
- Be a team player with regards to sharing information, helping to resolve a problem, working towards common goals, properly dividing tasks between team members, etc.
- Have the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
