**Responsibilities as a Cook**:

- Maintain food quality and cater to dietary and cultural needs.
- Plan and review menus with service users for their satisfaction.
- Ensure safe food handling and compliance with regulations.
- Comply with Food Safety and Health & Safety Legislation.
- Deliver cost-effective and innovative catering.
- Follow company policies, exceed healthcare standards.
- Engage with service users to understand dietary preferences.
- Assist in evaluating the catering service.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Promote diversity and equal opportunities.
- Support Health and Safety Policy objectives.
- Flexibly take on additional duties as needed.
- Follow safe practices and report risks.
- Comply with Making Space policies, including protection and confidentiality.
- Adhere to the General Social Care Council Code of Conduct.
- Ensure safety through reporting concerns as per safeguarding policies."

**Required Experience**:

- Food handling and hygiene; Health; COSHH
- Experience of food preparation and cooking
- Broad range of catering related skills and the ability to develop solutions which meet the identified and changing needs of service users.
- Budgetary control and planning
- Cooking within a residential or similar setting
- Menu planning

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Catering qualification or a willingness to undertake within an agreed period
- Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake the certificate or equivalent qualification undertake within an agreed period.
