Family Hub and Childrens Centre Cooks Positions

X2 30-hour week Cook Positions at Grade D
We have an exciting opportunity to offer Cooks vacancies across our Family Hubs and Children Centres.

The job role is to support across our 8 sites working in our Café Environment.

The role is 30 hours will work mainly between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm - Monday to Friday.

No weekend work is required.


The cook's role entails oversight of the day to day running of our Community Cafés, which provide daily meals in our café's and also provide a range of healthy meals and snacks for our Nursery Children.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and can run a busy kitchen and serve customers. We want someone who is keen to bring new skills and ideas to our kitchens.

We are looking for a cook that can work at pace and have a high standard of cooking. We want someone who has a background and experience in the Catering industry.

Do you have with a skillset for baking? and be able to sell a range of cakes and biscuits.

This role is a customer facing role.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who has a high level of customer service, as this role is working daily with a wide variety of customers from our diverse communities.

The role involves the planning of menus and ensuring they are providing a full range of healthy meals.

Over the half term and summer periods we have a very busy delivery of children's meals and adults meals.


We need to ensure that we are providing cost effective meals with consideration to the rising cost of goods and effective use of products.


Our cooks have to consider their budget and ensure that you met the income targets from the sales of meals in the café is paramount.

As with all food preparation you will need to ensure that you can demonstrate:

  • the safe storage of food products
- safe preparation of all elements of food handling

  • Demonstrate high standards in the kitchen environment in line with health and safety requirements.
