Manchester, United Kingdom Newmedica Full time

**Who are we?**

Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.

We care for thousands of NHS and private patients a year in our specialist eye clinics across the country. We have significant growth plans over the next few years as we look to establish a national footprint and open many new sites across the UK.

We are thrilled to say that following an independently conducted survey of Newmedica colleagues, we have been certified as a Great Place to Work®. This is a global benchmark that recognises employers who create an outstanding employee experience.

**Overview of the role**

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Content Specialist will be the creative force behind our content strategy.

The role will work closely with our Ophthalmology Joint Venture clinics (OJVs), the Group PR team and external partners to produce compelling content across both local and national channels, including social media, YouTube, PR, website, and print.

This is a remote role, but there will be ad-hoc travel to the OJVs and to our offices in London, Nottingham, and Guernsey so we’re looking for someone who is flexible and willing to travel as required by the role.

**So** what will I be doing?**

You’ll be working collaboratively with the Marketing Manager and the Group PR team to develop an annual content plan that excites, educates and engages our audiences across their preferred channels. You’ll lead the implementation of that plan, creating a clear and robust calendar of content for use in Newmedica’s social media, PR, website and YouTube channels. As such you’ll be responsible for identifying and creating compelling stories by regularly talking to the OJVs, conducting interviews, writing copy, managing podcasts and filming on location, producing high quality written, audio and video content.

You’ll manage and grow our social media presence with a community manager mentality. Your content will engage with both referrers and patients, responding to their needs and fostering a strong online community.

You’ll turn complex clinical information into engaging content that resonates with our different audiences and drives engagement whilst also ensuring everything produced meets brand guidelines and high degrees of accuracy. You’ll also be using relevant data and performance reporting to continuously improve quality and relevancy of the content produced.

**What experienc**e** do I need?**

Ideally, you’ll be degree educated in a Marketing, Communications, English, or related field.

You’ll have experience of working in a creative role, potentially an agency, particularly in social media or communications. You’ll have proven experience in content creation, with brilliant storytelling skills and an ability to create engaging narratives. You’ll have a strong portfolio of work, showcasing your writing, social media, and videography skills.

You’ll have experience of proactively managing online communities, particularly via LinkedIn, responding to feedback and monitoring performance.

In an ideal world you’ll have experience in the healthcare sector, with a good understanding of local community engagement and working in multi-location businesses. You’ll have a good understanding of B2B marketing, and a working knowledge of PR practices or experience working with PR teams would also be very useful.

You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.

If you are a creative and driven content specialist with a passion for storytelling and engagement, we would love to hear from you.

**What can we offer you?**
- A salary of up to £41,000 depending on experience.
- Up to 15% company bonus, paid quarterly based on company performance and personal objectives.
- Profit share scheme
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 1 day birthday leave.
- Company pension
- Access to a range of benefits, including free eye tests, discounted or free glasses, a 24/7 wellbeing/counselling/advice service, private medical insurance, private dental care, health care scheme, death in service cover, an opportunity to sign up to a tax-free cycle to work and a retail/technology discount scheme.
- An environment where your learning and development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses.

Newmedica is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all people, irrespective of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, language, religion, ethnic or social origin.
