The Supported Internship Programme focuses on supporting young people aged 18-24 who have a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) and an Education Health Care Plan to develop their skills and knowledge to reach their goal of gaining paid employment. The programme you would be leading on is a work placement and study provision, supporting young people to gain the skills and experience they need to progress onto paid employment.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

- To coordinate and lead the Supported Internship programme and all work related to supporting young people and employers to participate fully in the programme.
- To line manage the day-to-day workload and tasks of the Job Coaches team to ensure successful contractual outputs and results.
- To ensure that the team of Job Coaches provide the appropriate support and information to employers to successfully support the young people in their organisations
- To work closely with the Job Coaches to ensure effective job matching and activities to support the young people in job preparation activities e.g. travel training
- To work closely with the Halton Adult Learning Team to ensure the learning experience and work placement meet the needs of the young people and employers.
- To have experience and a working knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Young people and be willing to undertake identified training linked to Safeguarding.
- To systems and processes to meet funding and audit requirements.
- To coordinate partnership work with stakeholders and existing networks including parents, schools, colleges, and post 16 providers to continue to build on the successful work of the Supported Internship programme in Halton.
- To ensure effective promotion of the service offer to generate appropriate referrals.
- To develop and deliver participation, marketing, and engagement activities to continue to raise the profile and numbers of young people accessing the programme.
- To promote a positive culture of Inclusion, Equality and Diversity and raise awareness of the Disability Confident Scheme with local employers.
