**JOB PURPOSE**

Birmingham Airport Airfield Operations team are responsible for ensuring all Airside activities are completed safely and in compliance with the CAAs (Civil Aviation Authority) requirements. The department operates Airfield Operations Training and Operations Safety offices where you will work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to assist with aerodrome training and safety matters. As the Airfield Training & Safety Co-ordinator you would be supporting the Operations Training Officer with the delivery of Airside Driver Training, other aerodrome training requirements and duties supporting the delivery of airside training, additionally supporting investigation of safety occurrences and the airfield team with safety activities.

**DUTIES**

**Training**
- Delivery of Airside Driving courses (Airside Roads and Aprons, Manoeuvring areas, Runway and Radiotelephony) in accordance with CAP790 and Birmingham Airport procedures (Requires a knowledge of CAP (Civil Aviation Publication) 790. Training and or Assessor qualification desirable.
- Filing and administration of post course paperwork and student records
- Delivery of other Airfield Operations specific training e.g., SRICE (Snow Removal and Ice Control Equipment) and Aircraft Marshalling.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of training methodologies and syllabi.
- Ensuring the Airfield Operation Maintenance of Competency scheme is updated according to schedule.

**Aerodrome Safety**
- Participate in Change Management risk assessments (HARPs) as required and support in the delivery of training within Airfield Operations.
- Supports with airside driving enforcement, maintaining a record of driving violations and liaising with airside stakeholders to action in accordance with the BAL (Birmingham Airport Limited) AOIs (Aerodrome Operating Instructions).
- Act as one of the Centrik champions within Airfield Operations providing training to staff members as required.
- Participate in Airfield safety campaigns to promote safe working practices.
- Participate in safety oversight activities on the aprons, including driving safety, vehicles and GSE (Ground Service Equipment) safety and ground handler oversight
- Contribute to the updating and review of relevant documents within the Aerodrome SMS (Safety Management System).
