**About The Role**

Reporting to the Head UK, Ireland, South Africa and EMEA Wholesale, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. As the overall responsible GL/FinPro leader for the market, which includes P&L responsibility, you will work in close cooperation with the Head UK, Ireland, South Africa & EMEA Wholesale, Head GL/Finpro EMEA and various local and regional stakeholders across various functions.

In this role, you will lead both the Casualty and FinPro teams, including PI Construction and D&O underwriters, and promote Corporate Solutions' brand in the market, actively participate in industry conferences, work extensively with brokers and clients.

Leadership & management
- Lead and manage a thriving team of underwriters focused on the UK market.
- Actively develop a diverse underwriting talent base through recruitment, training, coaching and skill development.
- Grow the portfolio profitably and remain within target and appetite framework and guidelines
- Represent all Casualty & FinPro business underwritten locally to the UK Branch Management Committee and external Regulators

Business development & growth strategy
- Lead, support and execute on UK strategic initiatives. Support EMEA regional initiatives, as required.
- Enable and support customer and distribution initiatives, jointly with customer and distribution leaders and other stakeholders.
- Perform annual business planning together with the local and regional teams.

Underwriting
- Strong underwriting proficiency within UK Corporate business segment, including International Program experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant brokers and customers, generate a flow of relevant submissions and promote cross-selling opportunities.
- Identify value creation opportunities within our customer base and think creatively about new ways to look at risk such as partnering with our RDS and Innovative Risk Solutions

**About You**
- 15+ years of relevant underwriting and leadership experience, with a core competency of Casualty underwriting leadership experience, in the UK market, mainly in the underwriting of primary business, including international programs.
- Broad network of brokers and clients in the UK, especially with the commercial and corporate sectors
- Ability to assess risks, coverages, terms and conditions of insurance placements in respect of internal guidelines.
- Ability to deal with complexity, to handle multiple deals in parallel and to perform under time pressure.
- Ability and willingness to take initiatives in a team-oriented environment, to delegate tasks and to integrate other functions in the underwriting process.
- Ability to drive and execute on an ambitious growth strategy in a cross-functional, matrix environment
- Strong emphasis on profitability and ability to demonstrate good judgement on a portfolio level
- Knowledge of Professional indemnity and / or Directors' and Officers' basis would be optimal.
