Assistant Postal Team Leader

**Job Overview**:
Based at Sellafield Site, you'll support the Team Leader in leading a team of front-line staff, delivering a high standard of customer service and dealing with problems and unexpected events by managing and and motivating the team to ensure operations are achieved within collective targets, safely and efficiently.***

**Main Duties**
- Sort the parcels and letters for the routes across the Sellafield Estate
- Deliver the mail to designated collection, delivery and cluster points as per the route tracking inline with defined schedules and frequencies
- Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
- Re-direct wrongly-addressed mail
- Update personnel as per specific delivery locations
- Collect signatures for recorded and registered mail
- Provide support to the Team Leader as and when required to fulfil the full scope requirement and during periods of holiday and sickness
- Responsible for the day to day management of the Mail Room and personnel including the authorising of annual leave to ensure workflow is not affected
- Monitoring of sickness absence
- Collate departmental monthly performance report
- Checking of invoices from key suppliers such as Royal Mail and DHL against actual service delivery
- To attend appropriate training and development courses as requested by the Company.

- Upbeat, independent and self-motivated
- Organised, punctual and ready to deliver great customer service
- Think of yourself as a people-person and a friendly face in the community
- Happy walking for long periods and working outside in any weather
- Has a strong sense of community and takes pride in what you do - A knowledge of Sellafield Site is preferable but not essential
- Has a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
