**Job summary**:
We are looking for a talented communication professional to join Defra Communications Group's Campaigns, Brand and Digital team to optimise Natural England's creative content and engagement on social media.

The Campaign Officer - Digital will develop and manage digital plans to support Natural England campaigns across different channels.

This hands-on role will involve developing copy for Natural England social media channels and collaborating with in-house teams and external agencies.

This role will have a particular focus on Natural England initiatives and campaigns including the Nature Recovery Network, England Coast Path and Countryside Code.

**Job description**:
The Campaigns Officer - Digital will:

- Develop and manage digital plans to support the Natural England campaigns using owned and earned channels.
- Deliver digital implementation across internal teams, cross-government departments, external partners and suppliers.
- Identify audiences and interpret data and insight to implement targeted digital plans and content.
- Collaborate with and deliver commissions of content from in-house teams and external partners, overseeing the process from briefing, through to sign-off.
- Manage and track budget and plans, ensuring that activity is delivered on time and to budget, and there is demonstration of value for money.
- Draft social media copy for Natural England social media channels, ensuring this is signed off by key policy, press and strategy colleagues.
- Undertake social media evaluation for key announcements, analysing performance of content and sharing this with non-digital colleagues.
- Support the implementation of the Natural England Digital Strategy, working with the wider digital team to meet our objectives.

**Person specification**:

- Experience of developing high quality, innovative and engaging digital content.
- Experience of drafting social media copy and optimising for different channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Experience of planning and managing social media plans for campaigns/announcements.
- Experience of working with external partners and organisations.
- Experience of using innovation and creativity to achieve outcomes for both low cost/no-cost and campaigns with budget.
- Understanding of digital trends, best practice, channels and tactics.
- Experience of monitoring and tracking the success of campaigns and digital content, seeking to optimise and improve performance.
- Experience using basic graphic design tools (e.g. Canva) preferred.
