**Senior Quantity Surveyor**

We are searching for a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s capable team of professionals within a New Build Developer business. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.

To be successful as a Quantity Surveyor, you should have a methodical approach and superb interpersonal skills. Outstanding Quantity Surveyors are not only great at analyzing costs, but they also know how to read people and tailor their negotiation strategies to ensure the best possible outcome.

As a senior quantity surveyor, you will seek to minimise the cost and risk of a construction project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality. This includes ensuring statutory building regulations are met.
- Prepare estimates and costs of the work and when the project is in progress, keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
- Measure and value the work done on site.
- Pay subcontractors.
- Preparing reports, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
- Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

You will already be an experienced Quantity Surveyor working within the New Homes Build industry and hold a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or similar.

You will have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with sound knowledge of construction. You will be excellent at negotiating, with the ability to organize, plan, and strategize whilst maximising your natural interpersonal skills.

A valid drivers’ license is essential for this position.
