Once in a career opportunity to join an established global brand, who is going through a big digital transformation. Once a highly successful retail and subscription business, my client has recently hired a Head of Digital Product to spreadhead their move into becoming a product led, customer centric brand who make customer first decisions driven by data and insights.

The first project the UX/UI Designer will be working on is the re-design of 23 customer websites, ensuring a consistent tone and customer experience across each of them. This is an end to end UX/UI role looking for someone able to work from ideation stage, research, prototyping, wireframing and final UI.

The UX/UI Designer will be a key part of a growing, cross-functional product team. You will be a customer-centric innovative thinker, who will work to deeply understand the customer through research, use of insights and data analysis to ensure your designs meet their needs and add value.

The UX/UI Designer will play a hands-on role, designing and prototyping the overall functionality of products and features within your product area. You will ensure great user experience, testing and iterating will be an inherent part of your approach. You’ll be leading workshops and design sprints to inject design thinking to produce rapid, iterative results, helping your team validate and dismiss the assumptions they have made.

Key responsibilities for the UX Designer:

- Deeply understand the customer you’re designing for, striving to understand the what, why and how of the problems you are trying to solve.
- Both formally and informally uncover user needs and contexts via primary and secondary research techniques, sharing your learnings across the global business.
- Execute and advocate for evidence-based product and design decisions - conducting user research and stakeholder interviews to gather evidence and requirements, synthesising and sharing findings and providing rationale for decisions.
- Produce high quality design solutions through user research and discovery, market, and competitor analysis, low-fi and high-fi wireframes, concepting and prototyping, scenario and journey mapping, usability testing and final UI.
- Plan, facilitate and lead cross-functional, collaborative, design thinking workshops and sprints to drive human-centred creative problem solving.
- Be an advocate within the organisation for creating a consistent user experience, utilising the standards set through the Global Design System to support design at scale.

The UX/UI Designer can look forward to joining a growing, global business with an amazing working culture. They operate a hybrid working policy, with two days per week in the office, one of which is a Wednesday. Based just outside central Reading, there is parking onsite. The UX/UI Designer can expect a comprehensive benefits package, along with a salary of up to £50k.
