**Job Purpose**
As a Senior Global Opportunities Coordinator you will be responsible for the successful implementation of plans to deliver a suite of international student opportunities, which complement existing exchange programmes, including short term mobilities (including summer schools), work abroad, volunteering, virtual exchange/ internships. You will ensure an excellent end-to-end student experience which meets the needs of a diverse range of students.
The University has set a strategic goal that by 2025, 50% of undergraduate students should engage in an international activity of one week or more. The post holder will provide effective operational support to the achievement of this ambition.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Develop, implement and administer processes, procedures and data systems to support delivery of international student opportunities including short term mobilities, summer schools, work abroad, volunteering, internships, virtual mobilities. Act as an escalation point for Administrators and Exchange Coordinators in the Global Opportunities team resolving complex issues and providing specialist advice.
2. Ensure that operational mobility arrangements comply with all relevant employment, insurance and health and safety procedures, regulations and legislation. This will include researching and advising students on complex work and study visa arrangements, completing Risk Assessments and implementing support mechanisms for students, and ensure that all participants comply with said arrangements.
4. Line manage a Global Opportunities Administrator, including setting and managing workload and conducting performance reviews.
5. Contribute to reports and documents for internal stakeholders by collating and analysing data and using this to recognise trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations for future service delivery.
6. Oversee process to update students records and mobility reporting tools, working with Exchange Coordinators to ensure compliance with University and funder regulations and HESA.
7. Oversee the promotion of mobility opportunities through various channels including social media, Moodle, in-person and online fairs and information sessions, including collaborating with the Widening Participation team to design promotion campaigns targeting underrepresented groups, and liaising with partner organisations and other stakeholders on targeted sessions.
8. Build and maintain effective relationships and proactively seek feedback from key stakeholder groups including students, partner organisations and academic staff to share best practice and support and inform the smooth delivery and continuous improvement of partnerships and student experience.
9. Work closely with other members of the Global Opportunities team in the delivery of the above and undertake any other relevant and appropriate duties as directed by the Global Opportunities Manager or Head of Global Opportunities.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Knowledge and understanding of the policy, practices and procedures associated with the international mobility of students.

**Desirable**
B1 Knowledge of University software packages (Moodle, Qlikview, Oracle-based platforms etc.)
B2 Knowledge of the European and/or International HE sector, and Erasmus/Turing schemes
B3 Knowledge of Health & Safety/Risk Management regulations and principles and international visa compliance.
