Premier Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leader in Design, Manufacturer & Installation of Steel Process Machinery. Due to project and team growth a new opportunity has unearthed for**Thermal Design Engineer** to join on a permanentbasis. This position will be office based, some remote working can be arranged if required. A background of process or plant equipment would be highly advantageous to hit the ground running. 1 stage interview on site.
**Job Summary**:

- Confident/experienced with thermal equipment and able to perform calculations to size systems, gas burners, fan, ducting. (Ovens and Regenerative oxidisers)
- 10 years industry experience.
- Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD knowledge.

**Responsibilities**:

- Evaluation/Review of thermal equipment specifications produced by the Group’s sales team as the ‘Gateway check’ ahead of equipment detailed design with any perceived deficiencies within the specifications communicated to the Group Engineering Manager.
- Ensure that preparation of assigned detail designs is in accordance with formatting, style and general principals of Group drawing office standards as dictated by the Group Engineering Manager.
- To follow and assist in the implementation & development of the Group systems, processes and procedures as directed by the Executive Team.
- Production of project documentation including Process Flow Diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams if required.
- Production/Review of project and machine risk assessments.
- Production/Review of engineering calculations for thermal equipment.
- Production/Review of concept design drawings using 2D and 3D computer aided design software as required to meet project specifications.
- Production/Review of layout drawings using 2D and 3D computer aided design software.
- Production/Review of detail drawings using 2D and 3D computer aided design software.
- Production/Review of Bills of Materials to support engineering drawings.
- Produce progress reports for project and resource status to the Group Engineering Manager.
- Production of Spares Lists such as but not limited to recommended spares lists associated with any contract The Company has agreed with a Company Client.
- Compilation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals associated with contracts awarded to The Company.
- To assist when necessary, in proprietary component selection and purchasing.
- Liaise with Group Contract Managers as necessary.
- Liaise with Group sales offices and agencies.
- Liaise with The Company’s sub-suppliers to develop specifications for proprietary items to assist The Company’s Slovakia based purchasing team, as necessary.
- Liaison with Company Clients during execution of contracts.
- Provision of technical support to the Group’s Slovakian based engineers during project manufacturing phase at a location agreed by The Company.
- Technical support to the Group’s site-based staff during installation and commissioning phases at the registered offices of The Company and off site at a location agreed between The Company and the Company Client
- Technical support to Group employees, representatives and agents during the sales phase of projects
- Site surveys at potential and existing Customer Clients’ facilities to obtain design data during both sales and engineering phases.
- Attendance at project and equipment design review meetings with Company Clients at the registered offices of The Company and off site at a location agreed between The Company and the Company Client.
- Development of new products as directed by the Executive Team.
- To notify the Group Engineering Manager when skill training is required to ensure that adequate competence in the execution of any task requested of The Employee can be demonstrated if called upon.
- Participate in the recruitment & training of The Company’s employees such as but not limited to apprentices and post-graduate trainees.
