**Wine and Cider Tour Guide Job Specification**

**Tours operate every Sunday from April - September**

Woolton Farm is a diversified farm business, near Canterbury that produces Kentish Pip cider and Woolton wine. Our latest project pairs our unique 14th century barn and fruit garden with Kent's finest food and drink offering, events, tours and tastings, accommodation and food and drink.

We have been hosting wine and cider tours for a number of years and are looking to extend and build the offering.

We are looking for a passionate individual that has a strong interest in cider and wine and passion for quality food and drink experiences.

**Main tasks will include**:
Setting up tasting stations for tours and assuring stock is set aside and chilled in advance of guests arrival

Greeting guests and checking them in for tours

Leading walking tours to orchards, vineyard and cidery

Conducting tastings of products during the tour and in The Barn

Maintaining a relaxed and fun atmosphere for all levels of understanding

Provide clear and informative information

Overseeing guest safety throughout the visit

Maintaining a professional and engaging demeanour throughout the tour

Written structure for the tours and tastings, plus tasting notes

Training on Woolton Farm and all growing and drinks production processes

Product training

Ongoing support and guidance

**Skills required**:
An initial understanding of the process of growing and harvesting grapes and apples

An initial knowledge of the production of cider & wine

Ability to learn the information given and present it clearly and accurately to guests in their own style

Ability to engage and connect with a diverse group of individuals

Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively

Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances or tour requirements

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

**Other Requirements**:
Must be over 18 years

Ability to get to work (remote location)

Ability to take walking tours through orchards and vineyards where ground may be uneven and un paved

Training days will be paid

Tour Schedule: Every Sunday from the 14th April until the end of September

Cider Tours: 12:00 (up to two hours)

Wine Tours 14:30 (up to two hours)

There is an opportunity to increase the number of tours

**Salary**:
**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £6.70-£22.32 per hour
