**Deputy Contact Coordinator**

**Days of work: Monday-Sunday (Weekly Rota)**

**Reports to: Line Manager**

**Hours of work**: _Between _ **9:00 am and 6pm (21 hrs pw) including 2 Saturdays per month**

**Salary: £10.00 - £12.00 PH Pro-rata - depending on experience**

We are looking for a part time Deputy Contact Co-Ordinator to join our team by ensuring that the contact centre is continuing to provide a safe environment for children and upholding safeguarding /child protection procedures. You will be required to plan and provide a contact for parents and families in line with court orders, complete risk assessments for Health and Safety checks prior to contact. You will need to be flexible, have strong organisational skills along with excellent people skills. You must be able to manage the Contact centre procedures in relation to referrals, record keeping and statistics. You must be able to conduct pre
- visit for families.

**Person specification**

1. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Children and families or related fields.

2. GCSE Level C English & Maths or equivalent - minimum requirement

3. A non-judgemental attitude - An ability to put people at ease.

4. The ability to work with families in conflict and the importance of remaining impartial, objective and always focused on the needs of the child/children.

5. The ability to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate contact sessions

7. Understanding the needs of families/individuals, and the impact of disadvantage and social exclusion and the commitment and willingness to promote inclusion and equality of opportunity for all.

8. A confident and professional approach to working with service users and colleagues, have excellent verbal, listening and presentation skills, including basic IT skills.

9. Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively and to develop robust administration procedures.

10. A basic understanding of safeguarding issues and child development. 11. A desire to work with vulnerable families.

12. The ability to manage and support staff, apprentices & supervisors.

13. Willing to offer some flexibility in work hours to include working weekends and evenings.

14. A current DBS for working with adults and children - Current driving licence and access to a car (desirable but not essential).

**Principal Accountabilities**

1. To be responsible for providing suitable and safe accommodation at the Contact Centre premises for the contact sessions. To ensure that the premises and equipment are of a satisfactory standard and compliant.

2. To ensure the centre is welcoming to users of differing race, gender, sexuality, creed and abilities.

3. To maintain policy and guidelines for the running of the Service within, the NACCC
(National Association of Child Contact Centres) Guidelines and current child care legislation.

4. To achieve and maintain NACCC enhanced accreditation and work within guidelines and standards.

5. To ensure the consistency of the quality of supervised contact whether the service is delivered by contact centre or family support service staff. To allocate appropriately qualified staff to undertake the different types of supervised contact.

6. To keep accurate records of the contact centre work, adhere to confidentiality, information sharing protocols, assessment processes, provide monitoring information to
Negotiators Limited, and service Commissioners, as required.

7. To participate in personal supervision and training and to attend local and central staff meetings. This may involve keeping in touch with developments in the field by liaising with other similar projects and attending events organised for contact centre staff.

8. To contribute to the collection and analysis of information required by funders and
Negotiators Limited and provide accurate reports as appropriate.

9. To ensure you have an understanding and comply with Negotiators Limited procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

10. To ensure the implementation of Negotiators Limited Diversity & Equality Policy and our Ethical Policy in every aspect of your work and positively promote the principles of these policies amongst colleagues, service users and other members of the community.

11. To comply with Negotiators Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection Policy and to protect your own and others’ health, safety and welfare.

12. To work flexibly as may be required by the needs of the service and carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
