**About the Job**

This role is an exciting opportunity to work as a Leadership and Talent Advisor in DIO's People & Capability Team who undertake the functions that effectively ensure that DIO can plan for and deliver the future workforce needed to meet the requirements of successful future operational delivery. This includes planning for and delivering a workforce with the right skills and behaviours as well as providing advice to the leadership team on all aspects of people strategy including organisational change, talent management, performance management, reward and recognition, employee relations, diversity and inclusion.

The purpose of the Leadership & Talent team is to identify and develop talent ensuring the workforce reaches its potential thereby supporting our leaders under the Good 2 Great approach, to be visible and capable leaders in the organisation.

Knowledge and research of external best practice will be required to help keep DIO a modern organisation which adopts continuous improvement approachs.

**Who are we looking for?**

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
**1. Support the Leadership and Talent Team 5%**
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the DIO Guiding Principles, values and vision.
- Collaborate with team members and assist line managers in delivering departmental goals.
- Ensure local compliance with mandatory requirements e.g. H&S training.
- Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams across DIO, MoD as well as with contracted partners.

**2. Manage and support talent management and leadership activity within the People strategy 60%**
- To take an ownership role in specific aspects of the G7+ Leadership Programme, specifically the financial and commercial aspects of managing an external provider and ensuring compliance with MoD policy.
- Delivery of complete business cases ensuring all critical stakeholder requirements have been met at submission.
- Manage development interventions such as 360 feedback process, Insights Discovery behavioural profiling, coaching and mentoring for talented individuals.
- Utilise the talent dashboard to report to Senior Directors and other senior leaders on the quality and risks associated with succession planning for Grade 6/7 and SCS grades.
- Identify and build strong relationships with senior key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure programmes of work are collectively sponsored.
- Develop solutions to respond to changing capability requirements, utilising digital capability and modern ways of working.
- Develop and lead on a sustainable and effective DIO wide communication plan for the new Leadership programme.

**3. Provide talent management and leadership Support to the DIO Business 15%**
- Provide consultancy support to the DIO business on solutions to meet the needs of specific business areas in the behavioural and leadership field.
- Support the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to embed talent management and leadership activity in the target population.
- Manage the implementation of learning solutions from initial consultation to evaluation for the target population.
- Research external good practice in the talent and leadership space.
- Support the set up and occasional facilitation, of informal learning solutions such as action learning sets, communities of practice.

**4. Talent Management 9BG process 15%**
- Plan the annual 9BG activity in partnership with business areas, data team and HRBPs.
- Support the business to accurately record markings against standards through a variety of communication approaches.
- Report on completion rates.
- Manage senior and key stakeholder relationships internally and externally to ensure compliance.
- Prepare the data pack required for Senior Directors' Moderation panel.
