Fire Safety Advisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Safety Advisor to join South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to support with the effective management of fire risks across the Trust on a fixed term basis.
The focus of this role is to support the existing Fire Safety Advisor in providing managers and staff with expertise, advice and guidance on all aspects of fire safety to assist the Trust in achieving and maintaining compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.
The post holder will be a fire safety specialist for the Trust, providing visibility and expert support to the fire safety work within the Trust ensuring implementation of the Trust’s Fire Safety and Prevention Policy and associated procedures and guidance.
The post holder will be required to support and work closely with the existing Fire Safety Advisor with planned work in accordance with the Health and Safety Annual Plan. Planned work includes:
- Regularly carrying out high quality fire risk assessments for Trust premises across the Trust's geographical area, ensuring significant findings are appropriately documented and identifying recommendations which will enable compliance with legislative and statutory requirements. Therefore, a full UK driving license is required.
- Assisting in the development of fire safety training packages and deliver training to staff where required.
- Assisting in the development of Trust fire safety policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the development of generic risk assessments in respect of fire safety.
- Influencing the prevention and reduction of fire safety related incidents across the Trust.
