**Job Description**:
AECOM is seeking to hire an Associate or Associate Director Chartered Building Surveyor with technical due diligence and dilapidations specialist interest. Location is flexible but the nature of the work will require regular travel around the UK (and occasionally further afield) to carry out your job duties.

This role will suit someone with a strong technical background who has carried out numerous technical due diligence and dilapidations instructions in more than one UK jurisdiction. You will specialise in these services and help grow our business by participating in work winning and client management initiatives.

As an Associate or Associate Director Chartered Building Surveyor, you will be an important part of the team’s leadership structure, working alongside others to help grow and develop our people and our business.

Job Duties:
This is an opportunity to join a unique team that is on a fantastic journey. We survey all kinds of commercial building from hotels to warehouses, offices to student accommodation, and we work with some of the world’s biggest organisations.

This job requires that you support the Head of TDD and the Head of Dilapidations to deliver the TDD and dilapidations business plans by:

- Leading and managing others on individual TDD and dilapidations commissions around the UK, including carrying out surveys and report writing.
- Working with the team to develop business with existing clients as well as new work. This includes networking, preparing submissions and attending interviews as required.
- Working with the team and others across building surveying to deliver continuous improvement to our standards, processes and knowledge and to develop our more junior team members.
- Line managing team members, including mentoring, goal setting and associated operations tasks such as managing absence requests, etc

**Qualifications**:

- Experience of practising and delivering technical due diligence and dilapidations management services to landlord and tenant clients in a commercial building consultancy in more than one UK jurisdiction
- Experience in all core building surveying work areas especially TDD and dilapidations
- Familiarity with a wide range of construction types and understand the common issues and defects associated with these from a building fabric perspective and (albeit to a lesser degree) from a building services perspective
- Experience of participating in business development, sales and marketing activities, and bidding and winning new work, ideally in both public and private sectors
- Experience of managing and coordinating multiple surveying projects, and project managing own projects whilst overseeing those of junior staff
- Experience of all aspects of financial management of professional instructions, from preparing fee proposals, to entering into contract, to managing fee budgets, to final invoicing
- Awareness of new technologies and legislation appropriate to the fields of TDD and dilapidations
- Demonstrable knowledge of the relevant RICS guidance notes, particularly those relating to TDD and dilapidations

Preferred Qualifications:

- Hold a relevant degree, such as an RICS accredited Bachelor’s degree in building surveying
- Have been a Full Member of your professional body, eg the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- Ideally, you will have experience of delivering reports via a range of software options, and you will be excited about how you will seek to bring digital innovation to TDD practice

Additional Information

We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options. Whether you’re working from an AECOM office, remote location or at a client site, you will be working in a dynamic environment where your integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and pioneering mindset are championed. You will help us foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion - a safe and respectful workplace, where we invite everyone to bring their whole selves to work using their unique talents, backgrounds and expertise to create transformational outcomes for our clients. We will encourage you to grow and develop your career with us through our technical and professional development programs and diverse career opportunities. We believe in leadership at all levels. No matter where
