**Job Description**:

- The Base Metals and PGMs (two core groups of commodities) business environment is experiencing increased levels of complexity and uncertainty, which require greater agility and robust processes, in order to avoid value leakage while optimizing 3rd party trading and equity sales operations for value maximization.

Over the next years both business will be undergoing significant transformation including stabilisation of new systems and processes, increasing complexity on the trading environment and seeking to leverage support across commodities. New commodities, business activities (trading and S&O) and a re-organisation of logistics activities will also reshape the business going forward.

This role is fundamental in delivering the trading ambitions for both commodity groups and is one of the few cross-commodity sales operations role in AA, that need to manage trade-offs between different production, marketing systems and interfaces customers across various industries following different dynamics operating practices (Multi-industry context).

**PURPOSE**

Execute the fulfillment of contractual Base Metals and PGMs sales transactions to satisfy Anglo American’s and customers’ contractual obligations

**KEY TASKS**

**Deal Validation, Confirmation & Amendment**
- T+1 reconciliation of trade blotter/ recap to the Aspect system, ensuring correct and accurate deal capture thereby providing a key point of control.
- Ensure all trade blotters/ recaps are filed and stored appropriately.
- Confirm deals in Aspect in a timeously manner.
- Deal amendments to comply with Risk, Legal & Audit requirements.
- Daily check & validation of shapeable & non-standard pricing deals.

**Contract Administration & Reporting**
- Execute contract administration for all APML contracts.
- Ensure that contracts are loaded into relevant ERP system as required.
- Review all spot and term deals against any existing/ agreed legal frameworks to ensure that traders have the contractual right to execute the trade and determine whether new amendments or agreements are required to cover certain deals.
- Manage customer communications regarding contracts.
- Manage approval process to deliver timely and accurate returns within the governance framework.
- Monitor execution of contract and subsequent filing of all contractual documentation in relevant repository.
- Maintain Contract Register &/ Summaries file.
- Ensure compliance to agreed contractual terms, through notification of upcoming contract expiry throughout monthly and quarterly notifications.

**Contract Drafting, Execution & Amendment**
- Interface with sales managers/ traders to understand key contractual terms and conditions as well as their strategies in retaining and optimizing value and to protect Anglo American’s interest through to assist with drafting contracts that are legally and commercially binding.
- Act as the primary liaison between Front Office and Group Legal, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently, effectively and promptly.
- Provide specialist contractual and commercial expertise, utilising advanced knowledge of commercial and legal practice within the commodities trading industry to negotiate and draft contracts and ancillary documents.
- Identify and evaluate potential conflict, confusion or uncertainty in the contractual terms of purchase and sale contracts and highlight to the relevant trader/ sales manager for their attention.
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Analyse and identify potential operational issues prior to finalisation and execution of the contracts and propose resolutions to mitigate against such risks.
- Ensure support function review and/or MRC sign-off has been obtained for any non-standard deals or contracts, escalate if required.
- Submit standard contracts to customers for review.
- Liaise with customers to agree final terms, escalate outstanding issues to Group Legal and/or relevant trader/ sales manager as required.
- Utilise commodity-specific knowledge to draft contractual amendm
