The Procurement Department coordinates the sourcing, contracting and buying of goods and services to meet the operational requirements of the Trust.
An opportunity has arisen in the position of a Band 4 eProcurement Officer to work within a top performing, award winning Procurement team.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well organized person with experience of working with the Purchasing and Supply environment. The post holder with work closely within the Contracts Team, providing integral support to the Trust.
Undertaking eProcurement systems support activities.
To assist in ensuring that the Trust’s purchasing activities are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner.
Responsible for sourcing goods, negotiating best value, processing supplier transactions
To advise on options when placing orders and encourage use of e-catalogues in line with department and wider strategy
To work in conjunction with the GM Procurement ICB, NHS Supply Chain and other relevant collaborative organisations / partners to ensure that the Trust is maximising benefits through nationally awarded agreements and collaborative working.
To produce regular management reports aimed at ensuring that users have the appropriate information to aid business decision making

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
To negotiate best value with suppliers and influence internal customers to use the services of the procurement function and contribute to the achievement of the Trusts savings target.
To provide advice on sourcing products from appropriate suppliers as necessary.
To provide advice and help in respect of general supplies queries from staff within the Trust, providing resolution to queries or problems where appropriate.
To work with the NHS SBS and the Trust’s Accounts Payables team to assist in matching orders to invoices when applicable and review to ensure outstanding issues are cleared in a timely manner.
To deal with any issues requiring investigation (e.g. goods returned to suppliers) and work with the Trust’s stakeholders to bring to resolution.
To provide routine advice to the Trust’s departments and project teams regarding tendering requirements, with emphasis upon ensuring that the procurement process is run smoothly and in the best interests of the Trust.
To have day-to-day responsibility for advising upon and undertaking procurement activities, this will involve the purchase of goods and services up to a maximum £50k.
To provide professional procurement advice and supporting documentation to focus groups set up to consider the Trust’s purchasing activities.
To support clinicians in organising product trials, analysing quotations and question documents, and undertaking evaluations which lead to best value purchasing practice.
To ensure that recommendations for purchases are fully explained using appropriate relevant evaluation criteria, delivered in accordance with timescales and remains within budget. To assist in maintaining the Trust’s purchasing catalogues, ensuring accurate, relevant and up to date information.
To support in ensuring that the terms of these agreements are reflected within the Trusts systems.
To provide support and advice to the internal users of the Trusts procurement system. To manage the commercial interface between the Trust and the market place though regular contact with end users and supplier representatives.
To keep abreast of changes within the trust and external markets and ensure that key users are updated as required.
To assist in the training of new users of the Trust Procurement system/s.
To contribute to the development of the post holder in particular attendance at local and regional procurement training initiatives
To plan and organise own workload in conjunction.
Ensure that necessary risks taken as part of daily work have been assessed and managed in order to reduce the likelihood of any unfavourable outcome occurring.
