An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vascular kit co-ordinator on our Aintree site. Reporting to the Theatre lead, the vascular kit coordinator will provide effective compliant day to day coordination of all vascular specialist consumable items used within the Theatre area for the smooth and efficient running of operating lists managed against Theatre lists, Surgeons preferences and specialist requests.

Provision of Vascular requirement lists to companies in a timely manner to enable the most efficient and timely receipt of these items

Be the main point of contact between Theatre stores team, Theatre staff, EVAR Coordinator and suppliers for vascular kit requests, monitoring deliveries and timely management of specialist orders in accordance with national guidance and trust policy.

Using IT based tracking and traceability systems record items ordered and used on patients.

- To manage and coordinate all activities pertaining to vascular requirements for daily use and demand
- Effective communication of all specialist kit requirements to/ from stakeholders. Liaising with the Theatre stores Team as well as Theatre staff and suppliers for all vascular kit requirements. Ensuring quality and safety is never compromised by adhering to best practice
- Develop and monitor demand for all items requested and escalate any pressure areas where items are in short supply or there are insufficient quantities to meet demand.
- Store all vascular supplies in accordance with national guidance.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment according to detailed work instructions backed up by full risk assessments, including total compliance with manual handling requirements, the health and safety at work act and expectations of the trust.
- Ensure that all storage spaces are clean tidy, space is used effectively and is clearly signposted
- Seek and encourage others to put ideas forward greater, efficient working practices and waste elimination
- Promote good relationships to ensure good practice and positive staff engagement with the role within the department
- Report immediately any incidents involving staff, equipment or safety to security incidents causing or threatening to cause a risk to staff or patient care.
- Attend vascular Theatre meetings as directed raising and contributing to any issues highlighted. Raise any opportunities for improvement in respect to quality or efficiency. Disseminate information and actions to other applicable stakeholders.
- Ensure that any additional “ad hoc” requests are communicated to relevant parties at the earliest possible opportunity such as additional requirements to meet changes to operating list or Theatre schedules.
- Act on MHRA alerts pertaining to vascular stock and supplies used within the Theatres. Removing, quarantining and replacing stocks as required, signposting others to prevent inadvertent use.
- Ensure all cleaning schedules and other hygiene audits are carried out for storage areas supplied
- Undertake monthly stock checks of vascular supplies. Identify quarantine and liaise with suppliers to manage stocks past their expiry date.
- Maintain all operation skills, mandatory training and other specific training relevant to role
