Supporting NICE guidelines, you will work at an advanced level alongside our MDT Consultant colleagues & collaboratively with local health partners.

Currently we hold three MDT Diabetic Foot Clinics weekly, together with MDT ward rounds and clinical meetings. Part of your role will involve further developing the in-patient podiatry service, particularly to our diabetes wards.

We require people who are highly specialised with significant knowledge, clinical skills and experience at a senior level in the management of acute and chronic diabetic foot problems and a good working knowledge in the field of health education.

You will need to demonstrate relevant post graduate knowledge of the diabetic foot at MSc or equivalent level, together with at least 3 years’ experience in the management of the high-risk patient.

To assess and refer for clearly planned podiatric care packages for patients with a variety of care needs, with the aim of maintaining maximum independence and mobility, co-ordinating a seamless model of foot care from the multi-disciplinary diabetes team to community health services.

To liaise closely with relevant professionals for the arrangement of immediate treatment/intervention and for the referral of patients to other members of the wider MDT.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the Northwest region and beyond.
