- ** Location**: Remote working nationally within the UK however travel to NPCC at 50 Broadway, London and Wiltshire Police HQ in Devizes, Wiltshire. Occasional travel required to these and other locations across the UK. Flexible arrangements will be discussed at the interview stage.

**About Us**:
The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) represents the collective voice of police leadership in the UK, guiding the strategic direction of policing. Our Children and Young Persons Portfolio is a vital component of the Local Policing Coordination Committee, focused on enhancing child-centred policing strategies and national coordination.

**Job Purpose**:
The NPCC Children and Young Persons Portfolio Coordinator (CYP) is a critical role and you will support the CYP Portfolio Lead in the national coordination of portfolio activities, contributing to the review and refresh of the National Strategy and Child-Centred Policing. This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders to drive strategic policy and support the delivery of NPCC and LPCC objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership, vision, and advice on behalf of NPCC, LPCC, and CYP Portfolio, acting as a critical advisor on key business decisions.
- Oversee and manage the progress of the portfolio strategy, providing detailed updates on progress, risks, and benefits in line with NPCC standards.
- Coordinate the work of the CYP Portfolio with key stakeholders, force contacts, and other NPCC portfolios and working groups.
- Provide advice and guidance to police forces and senior policing leaders.
- Evaluate proposals from stakeholders regarding national CYP policing matters and assist in decision-making processes.
- Represent the CYP Portfolio at key meetings, including ministerial and high-profile settings, both in person and online.
- Handle routine inquiries received directly or via NPCC business support.
- Regularly brief the Portfolio Lead and maintain liaison with MOJ/YJB partners regarding Youth Out of Court Resolutions.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**:

- Experience managing strategic policy issues and supporting the development of child-centred policing.
- Strong ability to challenge and influence stakeholders, quickly building credibility and effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in writing and presenting reports, briefings, and presentations for senior management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within NPCC and with other committees, partners, and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in attending governance meetings and deputising where necessary.
- Skilled in producing relevant papers and reports to support decision-making and the implementation of priorities.
- Experience in youth-based policing roles or youth justice is advantageous.
