**Lead Playmaker (Mid Essex or North Essex)**

Disability 4 Sport has been awarded the Short Breaks Community Clubs and Activities funding for children and young people with disabilities. Short Breaks Community Clubs and Activities (SBCCA) offer parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) a break from their additional caring responsibilities, while ensuring children and young people have the opportunities develop, learn, socialise, and interact with their peers.

The Lead Playmaker will deliver safe, engaging, and fun weekly activities that support children and young people with different needs, including learning disabilities and autism, physical and sensory impairments, and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will work with our operational leads and playmaker support staff to commit to safeguarding practices and promoting the welfare of our participants, whilst providing enrichment activities and sport opportunities to those with SEND. This key role encourages teamwork and an organised person who can engage with staff, parents and carers, with a structured approach. The Lead Playmaker will play a key role in the successful delivery of our planned sessions across a local district or quadrant in Essex.

**Experience and education requirements**
- Demonstrable experience of leading a small team to deliver fun and engaging activities for children and young people.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering successful enrichment activities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Understanding of how to provide support for children and young people with personal care and specialist care needs.
- Understanding of how to engage with parents and carers to manage expectations whilst offering choices and flexibility.
- Proven experience of risk assessment and safeguarding practices in community settings using company policies and procedures.
- Experience of effective working using technology and digital skills including online registration and booking platforms.
- Experience of staff management and developing, implementing, monitoring action plans whilst working under pressure and adopting a flexible approach to working methods.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to manage expectations of stakeholders using both spoken and written word.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to support multiple sessions, prioritise and meet targets.
- Level 2 or above qualification in safeguarding or experience of 2 years or more.

**Duties and key responsibilities**
- Part of your role will be to support activity playmaker colleagues so together you can enthusiastically implement a wide range of exciting activities that are planned for you.
- Working as a team to deliver fun and engaging activities and to actively supervise participants throughout the sessions and making sure daily admin at sessions are complete such as registration and signing out
