Our client is looking to recruit a Caseworker (Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Service) to deliver and facilitate recognised support and behaviour change programmes to perpetrators of domestic abuse (DA) and those at risk of becoming perpetrators

**Synopsis of duties**:

- Where relevant, undertake initial proactive contact with perpetrators of domestic abuse, explaining the available services and promoting the benefits of accessing support.
- Work closely with safeguarding leads and other professionals to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns and that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met. Ensure the safety and security of all service users (including victims and any children and young people) within the planning of activities.
- Manage a caseload focusing on perpetrators of domestic abuse to provide an assertive, medium to long term service, based on thorough assessment and individual support planning
- Plan, prepare and effectively facilitate (lead and co-facilitate) the delivery of group work programmes to perpetrators of DA. This may be delivered through face to face, online or a blended approach.
- Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service user’s time in the service. Using a combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of skills to encourage service users to address their abusive behaviour and understand that they are accountable for continued use of abuse and abusive behaviour towards others.
- Identify barriers to individuals accessing our services and determine solutions. Motivate and support service users to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to the risk that they pose to others or act as barrier for them in addressing that risk. e.g. housing, substance
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and promote effective communication between staff. Integrate the programme activity offered to Perpetrators with the support offered to Victims within the local domestic abuse service structure; which may be internal or external, ensuring you work closely with those services supporting the partners, ex-partners, new partners, and family members of service users
- Carry out case recording and keep accurate records as required and ensure these are stored securely.
- Collate and manage confidential data from partnership organisations and provide information to those organisations in accordance with Data and Information Sharing Agreements and Confidentiality and Safeguarding policies.
- Engage in activities to increase general awareness of the service.
- Where required, represent the service at local events; deliver training and presentations. Develop and enhance local stakeholder relationships with a view to enhancing partnership working.
- Attend supervision, case review and team meetings, team support sessions as required.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and stalking, including the impact on victims and their children, and the legal and practical remedies available.
- Belief in perpetrator behaviour change. Empathy and the ability to support and guide your service users, demonstrating excellent advisory, negotiation & persuasive skills.
- Understanding safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities
- DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
- Clean driving licence with access to a vehicle
