**Activity Volunteer - Handsworth Social Group**:
Focus Birmingham is looking for an Activity volunteer. This group consists of seated exercise, and other activities such as a quiz and a guest speaker.
Our range of group and activities are growing, building on the invaluable social opportunities we offer to those with visual impairments. We are looking to expand our dedicated team of volunteers to support a range of groups and activities.
**About Focus Birmingham**
Focus Birmingham is a specialist charity providing expert support, advice and information to anyone in Birmingham with sight loss. We aim to help people with sight loss and visual impairment lead an independent and rewarding life. Making lives is at the forefront of what we do.
**Background checks**:
This role will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as two references ideally from people in professional roles.
**Role Tasks/Skills and Experience**:
- Providing help to individuals attending and staff
- Support those attending to make connections and social interactions
- Acting as a sighted guide
- ‘to undertake any other training relevant to this role
- A commitment to the aims and values of Focus Birmingham
- Great communicator
- Willing to get stuck into a variety of activities
- Friendly and welcoming
- Flexible and reliable
**Location**
At Handsworth Fire Station each Wednesday from 2.00 - 4.00.

- Focus Birmingham Training
- Any additional relevant training to enable you to undertake the role
