We are delighted to be able to offer a committed and experienced AHP the opportunity to operational lead our friendly and forward-thinking Therapies department at Velindre Cancer Centre. The role will include leadership and clinical delivery; we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic AHP with well-developed communication skills, good organisational and time management skills, leadership skills and holistic oncology assessment and treatment skills.

You will have experience of leading staff, enabling you to support four AHP Clinical Leads within Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. You will work closely with the Macmillan Deputy Head of Therapies and Macmillan Head of Service, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of oncology Therapies services. You will also deliver at least 2 clinical sessions yourself and contribute to your own professional team.
- To act as the key operational lead for Therapies, to include the 4 departments; Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.
- Provide direct line management to the Therapies Clinical Leads in operational matters related to ensuring high standards of service provision are achieved and maintained.
- To support the Therapies management team on ensuring all recruitment and succession planning activities are timely and well planned across Therapies.
- To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partners to create a sustainable service that meet stakeholders needs
- To be an autonomous practitioner providing holistic, enhanced assessment and treatment of patients with a cancer diagnosis to provide and deliver individualised treatment programmes and liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Be involved with monthly data analysis of services if requested to predict changes in capacity and advise operational managers on staffing levels required to maintain safe clinical care.
- To hold a designated portfolio for Therapies in education. To ensure Therapies works to grow student placements supporting clinical teams to deliver excellent clinical placements.
- To work flexibly e.g. when required weekends & evenings.
