Band 6 District Nurse - Epsom (UK)
Hunter General Nursing are supporting Epsom’s search for a Band 6 District nurse. The NHS trust is a community and mental health designed Trust, who prides itself on providing a range of services for all ages in the regions they cover. To do this they havea large workforce of the best healthcare individuals who work alongside the hospitals and patients’ homes in the community to continue this passion. This service has a need in both the liaison service and the response service.
The post holder will be a nurse with a regulatory body (NMC) with a driving licence and previous work experience as a community nurse. They will have clinical experience of taking care of the elderly that have wellbeing and mental difficulties, responsiblefor planning and providing support, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families they will have significant experience of delivering clinically robust mental healthassessments, care planning and risk.

Working Pattern: Full time
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 9 to 5
Specific Skills:
- Wound care, compression bandaging, Catheters, syringe drivers, administer insulin, IV administration.
- I.V. Administration
- Phlebotomy/Venepuncture
- Managing Peg Feeds, administration of medicines via PEG, Flush Peg, commence and discontinue feeds
- Male re-catheterization-care of and insertion
- Female re-catheterization-care of and insertion
- Suprapubic re-catheterization
- Ear Irrigation
- Compression Bandaging 4-layer
- Short Stretch Bandaging
- Management of PICC/Hickman lines i.e. flushing, change dressing
- Wound Care - Vac Therapy
- Wound Care - General
- Administration of medication via IM Injection/ SC Injection
