**Trainee Accountant - AAT Apprentice**

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Sixth Form and college leaver or a person with level 2/3 AAT qualifications looking to start their career within the Accounting & Taxation sector.

The role of Apprentice Accounts Assistant is varied and all-encompassing in terms of work and as a key supporting role, is central to the success of The Arkk. You will work closely within a small but high energy team to deliver a professional and stress-free service to a national client base, from our Knowle, Solihull office.

You will be responsible for preparing and working on customer’s monthly and statutory accounts and reports, as well as providing some on-going administrative support to the team.

The role will include comprehensive on the job training in all aspects of general practice including data processing, accounts preparation and taxation and will be developed in line with your study progress. The position will support a two year apprenticeship with the first year being 4 days in the office and 1 day for training on day release for study towards the AAT Course.

With a strong emphasis on providing timely and proactive accountancy services in a friendly and approachable manner, you will be trained to carry out tasks as listed below with confidence and professionalism.

**What you’ll be doing**

Studying towards your AAT qualification

Processing and analysing client’s day to day accounting records online

Preparing Control Account and Bank Reconciliations

Preparing VAT returns

Preparing and Posting Journals

Assisting with the production of monthly management reports and annual accounts

Assisting with the preparation of Corporation and Personal Tax Returns

Responding to or acting upon client queries and support requests

Communicating with and using HMRC and Companies House Online services

Using a variety of accountancy-based software packages to prepare client accounts

Undertaking other accounting tasks and administrative duties assigned to you by the team.

Reliable and committed to achieving AAT qualification

**Qualifications Required**:
9 GCSE’s 9-5 (A* - C) with at least Maths Grade 6 (B)

3 A Levels (or equivalent) with minimum of BBC

**Benefits**:
Salary of £14,000 per annum

22 days of holiday a year (plus bank holidays)

Opportunity to gain a permanent role once successfully completing apprenticeship

**Hours**:Mon to Thu 09:00 till 17:30 & Fri 09:00 till 15.00
