**Female Support Worker, Shelford, CB22**
**£12 - £15 per hour, according to qualifications and experience**

R is an engaging, intelligent young woman with dystonic cerebral palsy. She is wheel-chair dependent and has no verbal communication. She lives at home with her family and her wide range of enthusiasms and interests include music, theatre, ballet, science and visits to museums and gardens. However, every aspect of her life, from her daily personal care to her outside interests, pastimes and outings requires the assistance of a companion and facilitator. At any time, R has a small team of personal assistants (PAs), all of whom work part-time, and each of them provides, in a holistic way, for all her needs: personal care and intellectual stimulation. Her assistants have come from wide variety of backgrounds (students, teachers, an artist, a musician, a physiotherapist, and an interior designer), but most have been post-graduate students.
Working with R
Times:
All R’s PAs work part-time: typically, 1 or 2 days per week from 9.30am, for periods of 7 to 9+ hours. Working times are flexible and are arranged according to mutual convenience. Additional days, evening and week-end work may also be available as the need arises. Other patterns of employment are also negotiable, including stays overnight or for several days.
Pay:
Starting salary from £12 - £15 per hour, according to qualifications and experience, plus statutory paid holiday.
Regulation:
The post complies with all statutory employment legislation: All applicants must have entitlement to work in the UK. Salary will be paid in accordance with HMRC requirements.
