**About the Role**:
We are looking for a Transport Planner to support the Transport Manager in the efficient day to day management of the operation ensuring all process and procedures are carried out in line with agreed budgetary, financial, and service goals of all the sites in line with best practise and legislation.
- Responsible for producing cost efficient operational transport plans on a daily basis, liaising with the retail, fleet, customer service and the shift mangers
- To ensure the department provides a quality first class service to retail and stores through careful planning
- Review and analyse KPI stats, inline with agreed budgetary, financial and service goals of the sites
- To work as part of a team for any new store openings, liaising with Retail, Health and Safety, and the Operations Support Manager
- Achieving on time store deliveries by the most cost effective and efficient utilisation of drivers, hours and vehicles by liaising with Fleet, Containers and Shift Managers
- To take ownership and be responsible for the continued development of the day to day planning based on a culture of open communication, engagement and trust.
- Annual review of ‘peak and off peak’ schedule, to ensure compliance with store requirements
- Monitor cages for the delivery of volume to meet KPI’s
- Provide operational support across the transport department when required
- Communicate daily with retail providing up to date and accurate information
- Assist with project work to optimise schedules and synergise with other parts of the network.
- Involvement in other project work and any other reasonable duties that may be requested by management
- Completion of role in accordance with associated site, customer and Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures
