Funding Officer

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our charity, contribute to the Citizens Advice aims and principles and be part of helping people in your community.
We are seeking a self-motivated, committed and experienced Funding Officer. You will be a skilled fundraiser, ideally with voluntary sector experience, who is also a good team player.
You will work with the CEO and other key team members to deliver on income strategies that will allow the organisation to operate effectively and build sustainable financial security for the future.
Ability to work independently and as part of a successful growing team is essential.
**Role profile**
**Key responsibilities**Win project funding and Charitable grant donations-
- Work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Finance and Projects Manager (FPM) to set the Funding strategy for both short term and long term-
- Initiate all bid work and submit to the FPM for peer review, then to CEO for approval and signature.-
- With the Project Support Officer and FPM consider data, research and the environment to propose new projectsBuild relationships with key individuals internally to both understand the current advice issues our clients face and also advice areas where additional funding would enable us to help more people to move forward with the problems they face.-
- Identify new funding opportunities, talking to potential and existing funders (together with CEO or FPM) to promote our service and find new and innovative projects, including potential partnershipsUse IT fully in performance of duties including MS Excel and Word at a high level-
- Promote the aims, policies, and membership requirements of the Citizens Advice service.-
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.-
- Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service-
- Comply with all Citizens Advice information assurance guidelines**PERSONAL SPECIFICATION**
Essential1.Track record of leading successful income generation, through bid writing, fundraising and marketing activities-

3.Understanding of the voluntary sector in particular-
4.Proven ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations, and to research and interpret complex information and produce clear verbal and written reports-
5.The ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of wide ranging and complex topics, to delve deep into research and data as part of the team and to initiate project ideas-
6.An excellent team player, with evidence of being part of a high performing team and their key deliverables-
7.Commitment to continuous professional development.DesirableProfessional qualification-
- Previous voluntary sector experience-
- An understanding of the operation of local and national government and the administration of public and legal services, including an understanding of commissioning and other funding bodies
