- In your role as a Research Professional, you will be taking the lead in a diverse, fast-paced, constantly evolving team. We use DevOps methodologies to deliver world class secure platforms that make a real difference to our customers. In this role, you will have devolved architectural and operational responsibility for a large subsection of the technology stack on one of our projects. You will have regular and direct customer communication, responding to their challenges while maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the work stacks of multiple colleagues, making priority decisions in line with all relevant security, financial and HR considerations. You will coach your team to ensure their continued development and build a healthy, inclusive culture.**What you’ll do**:

- Provide the technical contributions and help set the direction for the build, delivery and
- maintenance of world class secure platforms
- Be hands-on in all aspects of the design, build, deployment and support of customer facing systems
- Employ and adapt industry-leading techniques and best practices to suit customer challenges
- Work within existing monitoring, observability and security frameworks to achieve our customer’s requirements

**What you’ll bring**:

- Have knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and how your work fits into it
- Have experience and exposure to DevOps practices such as CI/CD, automated configuration management and deployments in an AWS cloud environment
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of fundamental AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM
- Have knowledge of AWS deployments using IaC tools such as Cloudformation or Terraform
- Hold, or demonstrate a desire to study for, AWS DevOps related certifications
- Contribute to a high-performance culture, empowering others through coaching and development using modern software development methodologies.
- Deliver, coordinate and prioritise activities, responding positively to challenges, using your technical expertise to support you and those around you.
- Be passionate about automation, striving to identify where complex and repetitive tasks can be simplified, improving overall team velocity.

**You might even have**:

- Have familiarity with the ELK stack (or similar)
- Have association with a professional body such as CISSP, CIISec or other industry recognised qualifications
