We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Senior Finance Officer, to join our dedicated and committed Finance team. You will need to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a solid technical understanding of accounting principles.

**Role Overview**:
**Position**: Senior Finance Officer

**Location**: Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, Beaconsfield Drive, Blurton, Stoke on Trent, ST33JD

**Salary**: £32,909 - £36,298 (Grade 7)

**Status**: Full-time, permanent

**Hours**: 37 hours per week, with flexibility outside of term time (hybrid working)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing the sales and purchase ledger, ensuring timely processing of invoices and receipts.
- Overseeing procurement and contract management, promoting sustainable and inclusive practices.
- Monitoring income and expenditure, preparing monthly management accounts and budgets.
- Supporting risk management and adherence to financial regulations and audit requirements.
- Handling payroll and pension matters, liaising with providers, and conducting reconciliations.
- Providing general administrative support and maintaining financial procedures and systems.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A minimum of three years of experience in financial management or a related field.
- A minimum of level 4 (or equivalent) professional accounting qualification.
- Proven experience with management accounts, procurement, and contract management.
- Sound knowledge of accounting procedures, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with payroll and pension processes, including HMRC and audit requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, governance, and risk management.
