**Acorn to Oak Nursery are looking for a caring, fun and enthusiastic individual to come and join our team. We opened in April so a new setting and we are looking for several new staff, one starting immediately and the rest starting week commencing the 26th August 2024. We are flexible on the number of hours you wish to work each week but this will be agreed prior to contract and we are looking for full time and term time only staff.**

We are open Monday - Friday between 8am and 6pm and shifts will be between these times.

**Hours of work**: Monday to Friday 20 to 40 hrs per week. (Occasional Saturdays for training and team building). We have several open positions and the number of hours you wish to work will be agreed prior to contract.

We have a staff meeting one evening per month and occasional open days, staff well being days and open days on odd weekends.

**Qualifications required for role**: Ideally applicant should hold a Early Years Educator Level 3 or equivalent qualification in accordance with EYFS full and relevant. Experience of working with children is essential.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities for children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and develop
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and well-being
- Manage daily routines and ensure the smooth running of the nursery setting
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching practices and learning outcomes
- Provide strong leadership within the team to maintain high standards of care and education
- Record accidents in the accident book. Ensure the Duty Manager has initialled the report before parents receive it
- Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager
- Develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key person/worker
- Ensure that meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
- Ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
- Provide a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history
- Be aware of the community profile of the nursery and uphold its standards at all times, both within work hours and outside

**Additional Information**

This post is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as the position involves working within the close proximity of young children. The post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure.*

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in childcare or early childhood education settings
- Proficiency in English language both written and verbal (level 3)
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues
- Qualification in Early Years Educator Level 3 or equivalent
- The ability to multitask and handle stressful situations calmly
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
