We are looking for a visionary scientist to drive a ground-breaking programme in early cancer detection and help deliver our goal to improve cancer outcomes through research.

Who we are looking for:
A proven, senior researcher with an international reputation and proven leadership to drive a world-class research programme in the area of early cancer detection. Your expertise and leadership will accelerate our quest to speed diagnosis and prevent and treat cancer at the earliest stage.

The Institute of Genetics and Cancer, University of Edinburgh is at the forefront of cancer research. Our research spans basic, translational and clinical with fruitful academic, industry and healthcare collaborations. We are part of the CR-UK Scotland Centre.

- An established, outstanding international research reputation in early detection of cancer
- Ability to lead and develop an interdisciplinary research team
- Ability to secure substantial research funding
- Capable of contributing the Institute's strategic direction.
- Experience and capability to act as role model in the areas of research and teaching
