Locum Consultant in Neonatal Transport

We are looking for a Locum Consultant to support the Neonatal Transport Service (NTS) which is the Neonatal Critical care transport service for the West Midlands Region. NTS works in conjunction with the KIDS Intensive Care and Decision Support Service (KIDS), which is the Paediatric Critical Care Transport Service for the West Midlands Region. KIDSNTS is hosted by Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation Trust (BWC).
This Consultant post is a 10 PAs post, with 7.5 Clinical PAs and 2.5 SPAs.
The appointee will join the NTS team to provide high quality service delivery, maintain standards and protocols, to provide teaching and perform audit.

- Give advice and support on the management of critically ill neonates
- Be responsible for finding a PIC bed and for the safe transfer of neonates to an appropriate unit
- When on clinical service, the NTS consultant will be based on site during the day and on call from home at night/weekend but available to attend at the bedside. The NTS consultant should attend at the bedside when patient acuity, middle grade training and service provision demands.
