**The Role Responsibilities**
Operational Resilience enables the Group to prioritise the most important business services to its customers. It enables the product and segment CEOs to set impact tolerances thresholds for those services and ensures the operational assets which support those services are built, maintained, changed in BAU with resilient service in mind and can continue to provide those services during crisis.
Third Party resilience forms part of the Group’s overall resilience capability that is centred upon the services that are provided by Third Party suppliers and their sub-contractors that support the Group’s services. This component of operational resilience has become increasingly important over recent years with the focus that regulators are placing upon firms having the appropriate controls and governance in place to protect their services.
This role has two core elements being the leadership and management of the delivery of processes, controls and governance of operational resilience and Third-Party resilience.
The role holder will be responsible for setting and maintaining the Group’s Operational Resilience Standard and the delivery of its requirements across the business and functions. Similarly, the role holder will be responsible for setting Third Party resilience standards and for ensuring the requirements are satisfied across the Bank. These standards will be required to be compliance with Group regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Setting Group wide standards for Operational Resilience and Third-Party resilience
- Responsible for the implementation of Group regulations relating to Operational Resilience and Third Parties
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the tools, procedures and training which support Operational Resilience and Third Party resilience
- Oversight of the governance of Operational Resilience and resilience of Third Parties across the Business and Functions
- Drive structured training and awareness communications to ensure senior leader understanding of Operational Resilience and the resilience for Third Parties and its strategic importance to the Group
- Engagement with Group Resilience, Group Operational Risk, TTO COO (SMR responsibility for Operational Resilience), Management Teams of SCB Businesses & Functions, SCB Country CEOs and Country Management Teams and GBS.
- Lead on all change projects impacting Third Parties, e.g. the intra group programme

**Policies, Standards and Processes**
- Operational Resilience Standard Owner within the Bank (including Country Addenda)
- Accountable for global processes for operational resilience within the Bank
- Responsible for the assessment of Group level regulations on Third Party Resilience and coordinate changes required under TPRM Policy, Standards and regulations.
- Build and maintain an effective control framework to identify and mitigate risks inherent to Operational Resilience and Third-Party processes.
- Standardize Third Party resilience processes across all disciplines - Ops Res, BCM, CM, OCIR and IT Resilience as well as across all third parties types (IT and non-IT as well as vendor third parties, non vendor third parties and intra group arrangements)

**Risk Management**
- Responsible for setting the control environment for Operational Resilience and Third-Party Resilience
- Responsible for defining the minimum standards of controls and metrics which provide first line businesses requirements to manage Operational Resilience and Third Party resilience risks
- Work with second line teams to oversee that risk exposure.
- Ensure the resilience requirements of the Integrated Third-Party Risk Management framework are addressed.
- Accountable to oversee the conduct the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment by the business and functions in relation to Operational Resilience and Third Party Resilience
- Escalation of potential threats to Operational Resilience and Third-Party resilience to the appropriate NFRC
- Review and challenge Group and Risk Appetite metrics
- Review and challenge the 1LOD implementation of processes and controls across both Operational Resilience and Third Party Resilience
- Oversee and challenge Operational Resilience and Third-Party Resilience related risk, controls, issues and actions in M7

**Regulatory Conduct & Governance**
- Represent Operational Resilience and Third Party Resilience at related governance forums (e.g. Resilience SMR, the Group Third Party Risk Management Committee) where required
- Ensure Operational Resilience and Third-Party resilience controls and metrics are reported to the appropriate risk fora to enable the effective management of Third Party and Operational Resilience risks
