ABOUT YOU

You'll be an ambitious team player with all the technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to take day-to-day responsibility for delivering projects. You’ll be comfortable working with a high degree of independence to ensure technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. You’ll be able to prepare fee proposals for external and internal clients and lead the input to projects from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.

We work for leading UK and international clients on commissions of varying scale across all sectors, such as industrial, pharmaceutical, strategic land holders, ports, road and rail some of our recent projects include the Thames Tideway, HS2, and the Lower Thames Crossing to name a but a few.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re seeking an experienced Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to be based in either Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career within an established and successful company that has welfare and wellbeing as core values.

Minimum Requirements

+ Wide range of experience, knowledge and skills in contaminated land assessment and management

+ Strong understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance

+ Working knowledge of CDM regulations and site management.

+ Previous hands on experience within field investigation, including site management, drilling supervision, collection of groundwater and ground gas samples, or the supervision of remediation activities.

+ Development of robust conceptual site models.

+ Qualitative and/or quantitative risk assessment.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.

+ Strong analytical skills

+ Strong problem-solving and inter-personal skills

+ Ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment

+ Willing to travel within the UK

+ Chartered Engineer status or on track to achieve it within next 6-12 months
