Ambulance Make Ready Driver

Meridian Health are currently looking for Make Ready Drivers to work with the East of England Ambulance Trust for immediate start in Cambridge.

The primary role is to collect and move vehicles including ambulances (C1 license essential) as and when required so they are in the right place for operational crews to use at the start of their shift. Other vehicle moves will be required as will joining the Make Ready team with the preparation and cleaning of vehicles.

These will be full-time temporary ongoing roles with hourly rates starting at £10.50 per hour with enhanced rates for Saturdays, Sundays, Nights and Bank Holidays up to £20.00.

These positions are 37.5 hours a week on a rota, working 5 days a week across Monday to Sunday. The hours will typically be 06:00-14:00. These hours can vary.

**Main Duties**:
To deliver and collect Trust Vehicles between Trust sites and/or external sites/agents.
All cleaning duties of both inside and outside of Trust vehicles are to be in accordance with Trust IPC standards and methodology.
To confirm with Make Ready staff that the vehicle they are due to move has the correct levels of stock and equipment assets assigned.
To undertake ‘Vehicle Checks’ on each vehicle driven to ensure it has legal tyres, functioning lights, sufficient oil and coolant, and fuel for the journey being completed, in accordance with Trust Policy.
To report any defects that arise during the collection, delivery, or road test to Make Ready staff and or workshops staff prior to the vehicle being handed over to the user of that vehicle.
Able to reactively plan working day based on operational requirements and changes to pre-planned work.
To be responsible for the safe keeping of any fuel card or mobile phone issued to the individual during their period of work and to return such items prior to the end of their duty.
To undertake extended road tests of vehicles as advised or required after either a Trust workshop or other workshop repair has been undertaken prior to them going back into service, reporting any concerns back to the workshops.
To report as soon as practical, any loss or theft of such items, immediately to their Line Manager.
