Job Title: KWMC Communications Lead

Hours: 30 hours - 4 days a week

Salary scale: £32,323 - £35,990 depending on experience.

Pro-rata this equates to £26,208 - £29,181

Location: Knowle West Media Centre, Knowle West, Bristol and The Factory, Filwood Green Business Centre, Bristol.

**Job purpose**

The Communications Lead will lead the communications strategy for KWMC, at the heart of which is co-creation with community using arts, tech and making. As part of our practice of sharing what we learn is building the ethos and practical tools for “working in the open”. By this we mean sharing what we discover, make, and learn as we go. KWMC is proud to be part of a wider and growing movement of place-led innovators and change makers.

The Communications Lead will:

- Develop and ‘hold’ the KWMC comms strategy, working across the team to develop stories and a coherent narrative that shares our practice and the difference we are making.
- Develop the skills and storytelling capacity within the team including overseeing and commissioning content creation. This will include working with the KWMC Eight agency that supports emerging creatives to build their content production skills.
- Co-design with the team a plan to share the story of how we are developing community social and digital infrastructure and the power of this process.
- Work with the team to develop the KWMC Playbook - a resource to onboard and continuously explore our mission, objectives and practices.
- Work with wide range of stakeholders including ENoLL to share our learning and collaboration, contributing to building a movement of change makers.
- Work with community, industry, and academic partners ensuring equity and co
- creation are at the heart of collaboration.

**Key responsibilities**
- Development and management of the communications strategy for KWMC
- Manage the KWMC website and socials - keeping them live with engaging content and tone for different audiences.
- Create and commission communications content that showcases our programme so it can be shared with other communities, audiences, and stakeholders. This includes working with text, photography, film, and other media.
- Help create the team ethos and practical tools to enable KWMC to “work in the open”.
- Support the design and delivery of the programme to share what we do with other communities and stakeholders.
- Support the peer network of other neighbourhoods and partners to share learning and build momentum for change and advocacy for creative co-creation practice and place based social innovation.
- Support collaboration with researchers to shape outputs, gather evidence, and communicate both the process and the findings in an engaging way.
- Ensure that we are using relevant metrics to demonstrate the impact of our work.
- Support relevant monitoring, evaluation and reports as required by funders and stakeholders or internally.
- Adhere to our employment policies and procedures with reference to Health and Safety, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Undertake training as identified to ensure the ongoing effective delivery of the post.

**Essential knowledge, skills and experience**:
**Experience**
- Working in communications, including for example journalism, marketing, strategic coms.
- Working in a related sector
- including arts, tech and creative sector, community co-design, design, social and climate justice.
- Working with digital media and design tools, including graphics, tools like Miro, and social media.
- Working with diverse people and communities and an excellent understanding of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in practice.
