**The opportunity**:
Leonardo offers a range of Apprenticeships from 2-4yrs. across a variety of STEM and business routes, offering paid training, coupled with on the job learning that enables you to gain practical skills, experience and knowledge that sets up the best start to your career. We offer competitive entry salaries from £14,000 to £20,500pa and fully support your academic learning through to qualifications, with salary increases as you progress.
Whether leaving School or College with GCSEs/Standards, A ‘Levels/Highers (or equivalent) or in work and looking for a new career path, you are fully supported as you rotate within the business working on real-time projects alongside highly skilled professionals who are passionate about their work. We support helping you settle in to your new location ensuring you are familiar with the team and have a warm welcome from day 1. There is a member of our Apprentice team at each site, helping you progress, ensuring your study time is protected, enabling access to digital learning as well as opportunities to get involved with the local community and STEM projects, enhance many aspects of each programme.
As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art facilities. Depending on your role, you may work in an office, laboratory, or a combination of both. There might also be opportunities to travel between the Company's UK sites to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
**How This Role Fits In**:
Leonardo's four-year Manufacturing Apprenticeship offers a multitude of learning and development opportunities. You will work toward achieving an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma Level 3. Your apprenticeship will consist of a series of three-month rotational placements, covering Mechanical Assembly, Electromechanical Assembly, Electro Optic Assembly, and product testing. You will also attend College on a day-release basis.
As you progress in your apprenticeship, you will be responsible for daily meetings focusing on schedule adherence, load boards, and visual Key Performance Indicators. Later on, you will provide coaching and guidance to junior team members and/or fellow apprentices.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
Through your rotational placements, you will gather real work evidence, including written logs that describe your day-to-day tasks and highlight the manufacturing competencies you have demonstrated. Your apprenticeship will involve creating a folder of evidence that demonstrates your development into a well-rounded manufacturing operative through on-the-job training. While doing so, you will attend college on a day-release basis to gain vocational qualifications and stay current with college requirements.

The starting salary for this role is £17,000
